Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday deserves credit for bouncing back at Ibrox.

Andy Halliday’s name was being chanted in the Old Firm clash at Hampden Park back in April… the problem is it was not from Rangers fans, but by Celtic supporters.
Halliday was hooked off after 40 minutes in humiliating fashion, and Rangers were hammered 4-0 by their bitter rivals.
A few months later, Halliday is re-establishing himself as a key part of new boss Steven Gerrard’s squad at Ibrox.
Halliday filled in at left-back in the Europa League against Maribor on Thursday, before starring in midfield against Kilmarnock on Sunday, when he was one of Rangers’ best players.

After being loaned to a club in Azerbaijan at the start of last season, and struggling for form upon his return, the humiliation at the hands of Celtic fans threatened to end his Rangers career. There seemed like no way back.
So it is to Halliday’s huge credit that he is proving to be a valuable part of Gerrard’s squad.
Halliday may not make Rangers’ preferred XI, but with matches twice a week and injuries, suspensions and rotation all factors, he is getting chances and making the most of them.
With a game against Celtic upcoming in a fortnight, Halliday will have his eye on total redemption as Rangers look for a first victory over their rivals since April 2016.
