Rangers have made a strong start to life under Steven Gerrard.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has told Sky Sports that he thinks manager Steven Gerrard will have a future as a Premier League manager.
The Gers took a major gamble when appointing Gerrard as Pedro Caixinha’s successor back in May, with interim boss Graeme Murty sent back down into youth management.
Gerrard had just one year of coaching Liverpool’s under-18’s under his belt before being thrust into the Rangers job, as he faced the unenviable task of challenging Celtic.
Yet so far, Gerrard has defied all expectations, as he not only guided Rangers into the group stage of the Europa League, but also turned the Gers into legitimate title contenders.
With just two defeats in 20 games as Rangers boss, Gerrard has taken to management incredibly well, and Rangers fans now have real hope that he could lead the club to the title this season.
Gerrard’s immediate success in Scotland is bound to have turned some heads in England, and there are still many who believe that Gerrard’s move to Rangers is somewhat grooming him to be Liverpool manager one day.

After all, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp spent seven years with Mainz and seven years with Dortmund, and if we follow that path, the Liverpool job may just become available in 2022, giving Gerrard four years to develop as a manager.
Now, Rangers goalkeeper McGregor – one of Gerrard’s summer signings – has told Sky Sports that he thinks Premier League management awaits for Gerrard, predicting a move away from Ibrox and back to England in the future, potentially to Liverpool.
“As a person and as a manager, he’s really good and it wouldn’t surprise me one day if he gets – and I am not saying Rangers isn’t a big job, it’s a massive job – a top Premiership club,” said McGregor. “The club he’s been at all his life [Liverpool] is a massive club as well, and there are a lot of similarities [with Rangers],” he added.
