St. Johnstone boss Callum Davidson will take his side to Ibrox tomorrow night as they get set to face Rangers for the second time in a matter of days – and the Perth gaffer thinks Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park won’t have any relevance in Sunday’s Scottish Cup clash.
After Liam Craig’s late penalty salvaged a point in midweek, the sides do it all over again for a place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, with Rangers widely expected to book their spot in the last four.
While Davidson won’t read too much into the midweek draw, he does think that it showed the desire his players have to further their own hopes of a domestic double and take a step closer to Scottish Cup success after winning the League Cup earlier in the season.
“The game on Wednesday night probably doesn’t bear a lot of relevance to the game on Sunday – different place, different pitch,” Davidson said, as quoted by SportsMole.
“I imagine they will have four or five changes, we might have a couple of changes as well.
“All it does for me, it just showed me my players’ attitude and desire to go and win a game of football and try their hardest.
“Rangers are a top quality side and we have to be at our very best to get a win and Rangers have to have a slight off day.

“So let’s hope they have a little off day and we are very good on Sunday.”
