Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Harvey St Clair to Ibrox at the end of the season.
St Clair is an incredibly exciting talent who spent around 12 years coming through the ranks at Chelsea before making the move to Italy during the previous window.
But just a few months into his spell with Venezia, it appears that the 20-year-old could soon be on the move again. The Sunday Post reported recently that Rangers are monitoring the youngster and may step up their pursuit next summer.
Should the Gers manage to sign St Clair, Steven Gerrard may feel that he has the potential to put together a pairing that could be simply devastating working alongside each other.
In recent weeks, Glenn Middleton has become an important part of Gerrard’s plans. The 18-year-old scored against Spartak Moscow and Motherwell last week and also provided an assist in both games.
It is easy to forget how young Middleton actually is. His form shows that he is not fazed by playing in the first-team and he already appears to be on his way to becoming a key player for Gerrard’s men.
By next season, it seems highly possible that Middleton could have established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet.
And if Rangers add St Clair to their ranks, then perhaps Gerrard could have a starlet on the other flank who could develop into a star just as important to the Gers as Middleton is threatening to be with his current form.
