Rangers are reportedly poised to sign winger Jamie Murphy.
According to the Daily Record, Rangers will be paying a fee of £1million rising to £1.4million for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jamie Murphy.
The Gers have already tied up one January signing this week, as they landed midfielder Sean Goss on loan from Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season on Wednesday.
However, Director of Football Mark Allen is working hard alongside Graeme Murty to bring in more new faces, and a second deal could be close.
The Daily Record report that Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jamie Murphy is poised to sign for Rangers, with a deal potentially on the verge of being completed today.
It’s claimed that Rangers are set to pay £1million rising to £1.4million for Murphy, handing him his dream move to Ibrox having grown up supporting Rangers.
Murphy, 28, has only started one Premier League game this season and has now jetted into Glasgow today to complete his move, handing Murty a natural winger.
With eight goals and seven assists in the previous two seasons, Murphy has been a solid contributor for Chris Hughton’s men, but is now returning to Scotland, five years since leaving Motherwell for Sheffield United.
At £1.4million, Murphy appears to be a shrewd piece of business for Rangers, and a much smarter signing than summer additions Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera, as he brings a proven record in Scotland and still has plenty left in the tank, whilst he is also set to turn out for his boyhood club.
