Glasgow Rangers need a young, quality defender and the soon-to-be out of contract Manchester City player fits the bill.

Rangers have an ageing and somewhat erratic defence, with Clint Hill not getting any younger and the jury out on Rob Kiernan and Danny Wilson.
For that reason new Gers boss Pedro Caixinha will no doubt be thinking long and hard about potential defensive reinforcements this summer, and while the loan market should not be ignored, he could go one better and sign one of English football’s most exciting prospects for free.
Tosin Adarabioyo is a 19-year-old centre-back currently on the books at Manchester City.
The problem for the Blues is that his contract expires this summer, and with little chance of a breakthrough at the Etihad Stadium in the next few seasons, the highly-rated teenager looks set to move on in pursuit of regular first-team football.
That is certainly something he could get at Ibrox, and if Rangers can convince him to make the move to Scotland they would be signing a defender who is tipped to become a star for club and country in the next few years.
Adarabioyo is the real deal; a player City do not want to see go but who they could be powerless to keep unless they commit to a promise they may be unwilling to make.

After all, Pep Guardiola will not be ready to trust a teenage defender week in, week out as he bids to get things right at City, even if the player is ready for the step up.
Celtic benefited when they took City defender Jason Denayer on loan, but if he continues on his current trajectory Adarabioyo could be even better, and Rangers would get the last laugh if they can seal a permanent deal.
