Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers should be looking to sign the 28-year-old.

James Tavernier had a tough time of it at Rangers last season.
Going into the campaign, the 25-year-old right-back, fresh from scoring 14 goals and setting up another 20, was seen as one of the Gers’ most important players in what was set to be their big return to the Scottish Premiership after a four-year absence.

But a step-up in class arguably proved too steap for the English defender who wound up being castigated by large sections of the Rangers’ fanbase.
Consequently, manager Pedro Caixinha should certainly look to replace him this summer – and one man who could be perfect is Vurnon Anita.

The versatile 28-year-old is on the hunt for a new club after being released by Newcastle United this summer, having helped them win promotion back to the Premier League this past season.
The Dutchman did, at times, look a very accomplished right-back in spite of being played out of position by manager Rafael Benitez and he should be the man competing with Lee Hodson for that role under the Portuguese next term.
He might not have been good enough in that role to warrant Premier League football, but that does not mean the same applies to the Scottish Premiership.
Passion and commitment is a huge part of succeeding in football – and at a club like Rangers – and Anita has both qualities in spades. He would give 110 percent and a lot of Magpies fans were sad to see him go because of such characteristics.
Tavernier was often a disaster last term, but bringing in Anita, on a Bosman, could be a bargain for the Ibrox club.
