Mark Warburton would make a lot of Rangers fans happy by bringing the Croatian back to Ibrox.
Nikica Jelavic’s career in China appears to be coming to an end. Reports in his Croatian homeland from Dnevno suggest his deal at Beijing Renhe is set to come to an end after contract issues in the Chinese capital.
He is set to have his contract terminated by mutual consent, which will make him free to find another team.
Also, as the Chinese transfer window is different to the one in Europe, he is free to return to the continent.
Jelavic
The report suggests that Croatian side Rijeka are confident of signing the player. However, should Rangers try and bring him back to Ibrox?
Jelavic spent two seasons in Glasgow, where he became a fan favourite. The 31-year-old scored 36 goals in 56 games for the club before heading to Everton.
Nicky Clark comments on his Rangers troubles
He has certainly not lost his goalscoring boots. He scored 15 goals in 29 appearances for Beijing, despite their status as a fairly mediocre side in Chinese football’s second tier.
The £600k former Warburton player perfect for Rangers, unfortunately a Celtic fan
Rangers are currently struggling to find form in the Scottish Premiership and have slipped to third in the table behind Aberdeen and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Mark Warburton could certainly use some added firepower in attack and Jelavic might be perfect for Rangers.
Not only would he love to make a heroic return, but he knows Niko Kranjcar from his time with the Croatian national team, and he would surely score goals regularly in the Scottish top-flight.
Rangers love a freebie at the moment and Jelavic might be on the verge of becoming a brilliant option for the Ibrox side.
