Rangers should try bringing the Celtic-linked defender to Ibrox this summer.
Rangers captain Lee Wallace has recovered from the injury which kept him out for the last couple months of last season.
Myles Beerman proved an okay deputy but, at just 18, the Malta international is too young to challenge the veteran for his left-back role this season.
One man who can is free agent Reto Ziegler and Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha should consider bringing him to Ibrox.

The 31-year-old, according to The Scotsman, was the subject of interest from Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers earlier in the summer, though it never materialised.
And Celtic may still be keen after Emilio Izaguirre left the club this summer, leaving Kieran Tierney as Rodgers’s only option, but there has been no further speculation.
It is easy to see why the Hoops were reportedly interested, with Ziegler, a former Tottenham man, winning 35 caps for Switzerland.
But Rangers would have to be fast if they are to act, with Swiss outlet RTS reporting this week that Championship side Leeds United are keen.
Caixinha has other make-shift options to challenge Wallace, not including Beerman, but are they good enough in that role? Probably not.
Competition for places is a healthy ingredient in any squad, but the Gers don’t have much of it at left-back.
