Will Glenn Middleton get the chance to shine for Rangers in the cup?

Rangers host Ayr United on Wednesday night in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final and manager Steven Gerrard should consider a few rotations to his side.
The Gers have enough squad depth to make a few amendments to their starting XI to ensure it remains strong and they need to balance the workload during a busy schedule.
Gerrard should consider unleashing highly-rated attacker Glenn Middleton in midweek against an Ayr side who sit top of the Scottish Championship table.
It would be the perfect opportunity for the manager to take a closer look at the 18-year-old and hand him his first full 90 minutes of the season.
The skilful left-winger has made nine appearances across all competitions this campaign, but had to make do with mainly cameo roles off the bench.
But he’s managed to catch the eye still during that time and looks ready to make a serious senior impact.

The 18-year-old has come through the ranks at Ibrox and looks good enough to compete with the likes of Daniel Candeias and Ryan Kent for a starting position in the wide areas.
Middleton is a 5ft 9in flyer that has tremendous pace and definitely deserves the opportunity in the cup to show Gerrard why he deserves even more first-team action.
He is direct when in possession with his positive dribbling and looks like being the club’s breakout star this season.
