The Leeds United striker could be a hit at Glasgow Rangers if the Scottish side made a move.

Rangers fans may be familiar with Leeds United striker Lee Erwin from his time at Motherwell, when the then-21-year-old got into a tussle with Gers defender Bilel Mohsni during a play-off clash.

Erwin’s side triumphed that day, running out 6-1 winners on aggregate with the forward excelling in both legs.

It was a performance that helped him earn a move to Leeds United that summer. However since then his career has stalled, and while it may be a controversial move in the eyes of some supporters, Rangers should seriously consider bringing Erwin to Ibrox in the close season.

Now 23, the Leeds striker is enjoying a relatively fruitful loan spell at Oldham Athletic, scoring 10 goals to date including five in his last eight league outings.

Erwin has a habit of ending seasons well, as he proved when he scored five goals and set up six more in his last 11 appearances for Motherwell. And when you consider Rangers need to sign some young, exciting goal-scorers this summer – while also strengthening other areas of the pitch – a move for Erwin could be the perfect option.

He appears to be surplus to requirements at Leeds, for whom he has featured only 12 times in two years, and he has experience of playing in the Scottish top flight.

Erwin is also at an age where he needs to be playing week in, week out and he could take Rangers by storm if he fulfils his potential under Gers manager Pedro Caixinha.
