Rangers appointed Portuguese manager Pedro Caixinha as their new boss at Ibrox earlier this month . A pivotal figure in the appointment of the was Pedro Mendes, the former Rangers midfielder is the agent of Caixinha.

Mendes works for the MNM Sports Agency and it is fair to suggest that the club may be looking at some players from that agency to strengthen the team.

Most of them are based in Europe already, but there is one player they may want to consider bringing into European football for the first time.

The player in question is Sofiane Bendebka. The 24-year-old midfielder is an Algerian international who currently plays his football with NA Hussein-Dey in the top tier of Algerian football.

Considered one of the best Algerian talents still playing in his homeland, Rangers would be making a bold gamble by being the team that brings him across to Europe.

Eventually, it would seem inevitable that a player of his talent ends up playing football in Europe but France would be the usual bet for a player in his situation.

He could flop, but he might also be a star in the making. Rangers have a chance to roll the dice.
