Ibrox goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is a Rangers mainstay, but should his position be questioned?

Graeme Murty’s every move is being scrutinised as Rangers manager as the board consider who to appoint as Pedro Caixinha’s permanent replacement.
It could see the 43-year-old manager shy away from making the big calls, but so far Murty has changed the formation into an out-of-fashion diamond that has so far worked wonders – helping the Gers beat Aberdeen twice and Hibernian once.
Now, with a bit of confidence behind him despite Saturday’s 3-1 loss to St. Johnstone and with the January transfer window approaching, fans will be expectant to see the caretaker boss delve into the market to improve their side’s fortunes.

His obvious priorities will be adding to his attacking options, especially since the injury to veteran Kenny Miller. But should he begin to doubt the quality of one of his mainstays?
Wes Foderingham, 26, has been one of the first names on the team sheet this season but has managed to keep just four clean sheets in 19 Scottish Premiership outings. That is simply not good enough, if the Gers are to rival Celtic and Aberdeen.
It should see Murty look to sign a new goalkeeper and his attention should turn to rivalling former manager Mark Warburton and Nottingham Forest for Norwegian stopper Frederik Ronnow.

The Daily Mirror claimed in Wednesday’s print edition (page 50) that Forest are set to make a new bid for the 25-year-old Brondby ace, after the two-time European champions and Crystal Palace failed to sign him in the summer.
Ronnow has kept double the amount of clean sheets as Foderingham in his 19 league games this year, conceding just 18 goals – five less than the former Swindon Town stopper.
It remains to be seen how much the six-time Denmark international would cost, but Murty would win fans over by beating Warburton to the punch as well as plugging the leak at the back.
