Rangers need to bring a playmaker to Ibrox in 2019.
Rangers are reportedly looking for four signings in the January transfer window, according to The Express, and a playmaker has to be a top target.
The Gers have landed 15 signings under Steven Gerrard, but some patchy displays of late mean that January signings will be needed at Ibrox.
Whilst a striker is believed to be near the top of Gerrard’s wish list, he must also look to bring in another midfielder to solve a major problem; a lack of creativity.
Rangers will be casting their net far and wide in search of a playmaker, and they should consider a move to raid Osijek for a third time since Gerrard’s arrival.
The Croatian side faced Rangers in the Europa League qualifiers over the summer, and Rangers then signed left back Borna Barisic and winger Eros Grezda from Osijek.
Now, Osijek have a midfielder starring this season. Bosnian ace Haris Hajradinovic has landed five goals and four assists in just 13 games this season, becoming one of the stars of Croatian football.
The 24-year-old has a superb passing range and can score from long range, whilst his understanding with Barisic and Grezda should also be valuable, with Rangers exploiting the Croatian market three times in 2018.
Hajradinovic has endured a nomadic career so far, turning out for Zeljeznicar, Olimpic, Inter Zapresic, Trencin, Gent and Haugesund before heading to Croatia with Osijek in 2017.
Rangers director of football Mark Allen keeps a close eye on the Croatian market, and Hajradinovic has stepped up this season – and given that he would fill one of the Gers’ biggest needs, he should be on the radar of Rangers ahead of the January transfer window.
