That’s because according to The Express, City boss Pep Guardiola has told Belgium international central defender Jason Denayer he has no future at the Etihad sparking interest from a host of clubs in Britain and abroad.
Denayer has yet to feature for City and has had spells on loan at Celtic and Galatasaray, where he excelled, so he could handle the expectations of playing for a club the size of Rangers.

The Gers have wasted little time adding to Gerrard’s squad with Jon Flanagan the latest to join the club on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool.
Rangers are keen to improve all aspects of the team but particularly their defence to cope with a potentially arduous domestic and European campaign.
And at 22, with big club and international pedigree Denayer fits that profile perfectly.

But he won’t be on the market long given his huge potential.
The likes of Marseille and Gala are interested but Rangers should be able to beat both to his signature if they showed a serious interest.
Denayer is part of the Belgium golden generation currently emerging and has played for his country at Under 19, Under 21 and senior level.
