Glasgow Rangers have not been linked with the defender, but the Ibrox side should still monitor what happens with his future.

Rangers fans may have perhaps not thought twice about the links previously, but perhaps it would be fair to suggest that the Gers should just keep an eye on developments regarding the 24-year-old as it may have a potential impact on their summer business depending on where he goes.

In recent weeks, Graeme Murty appears to have stumbled on a centre-back pairing that he has a lot of faith in, with Russell Martin playing alongside David Bates at the heart of the back four.
With Martin only on loan at Ibrox and Bates out of contract at the end of the season however, there must be a hint of uncertainty regarding whether it is a partnership that Rangers will be able to rely on beyond this season.

And that is why Daniels’ future may perhaps be of interest to Rangers, even if they are not amongst the teams looking to bag his signature. If he heads to Carrow Road, it seems highly unlikely that the Canaries will have many issues with considering selling Martin permanently in the summer.
The Scotland international was out of favour before he left for the Gers on loan, and adding another rival into the equation may perhaps leave Norwich more willing to do business if Rangers come calling and look to sign the defender on a permanent basis.
The Sun’s reports on Daniels also suggested that Sunderland may also be interested, so perhaps that may also have an impact on Bates’ future, given that the Daily Record linked the Black Cats with a summer move for the Gers youngster last month.
So while it appears that Rangers are not in the running for the Wigan ace right now, perhaps keeping an eye on his decision may not be a bad idea as it may provide a hint as to what they could potentially look to do in the summer window.
