Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers should look at signing Lawrence Shankland in the January transfer window.

Ayr United manager Ian McCall recently suggested to The Scottish Sun that the club could sell Lawrence Shankland for £500,000, and at that price, Rangers simply cannot afford not to make a move for the striker in the January transfer window.
With Umar Sadiq having gone back to AS Roma after struggling to make an impact at Ibrox, Rangers do need to sign a replacement striker.
Shankland is in brilliant form at the moment and is banging in the goals for fun in the Scottish Championship.
The 23-year-old striker has scored 18 goals and provided four assists in 17 Scottish Championship appearances for Ayr so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
True, the youngster is enjoying success in the second tier of Scottish football at the moment, but for £500,000, the 23-year-old will be worth the risk for Rangers.

After all, Shankland is not going to be the first-choice striker at Rangers or even the second choice, with Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Laffery clearly the two top strikers at Ibrox.
What the youngster will do is push Morelos and Lafferty and also give Rangers manager Steven Gerrard an option off the bench, as the Gers challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
