Cameron Carter-Vickers suggested to Green’Un24 last month that he could leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, and Ibrox club Rangers should make a move.

On loan at Championship club Ipswich Town for the 2017-18 season, the Tottenham-owned defender suggested to Green’Un24 last month that he is not sure about his future, and that should spark Rangers into action.

“I want to play football so if the opportunity comes and the manager at Tottenham says he doesn’t need me and the opportunity to play football again in the Championship comes up then I will be up for it,” Carter-Vickers told Green’Un24 in April 2018.

Carter-Vickers has done well for Ipswich in the Championship this season, and the 20-year-old defender would be a good addition to the Rangers team.

With David Bates set to leave for Hamburg in the summer transfer window, Rangers will need a replacement for the 21-year-old centre-back.

Carter-Vickers fits the bill. The 20-year-old is a very good and capable defender who has played a total of 34 Championship matches this season – 17 for Sheffield United and 17 for Ipswich.

The 20-year-old USA international has proved himself in the Championship, and this suggests that he is good enough for the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have not been great defensively, and it is clear that the Glasgow giants need fresh faces at the back.

A loan move for Carter-Vickers would not cost Rangers anything in transfer fee, and they would get a defender who can only get better and will be hungry for success.
