Glasgow Rangers’ decision to bring Glen Kamara to Ibrox during the January transfer window was inspired.

While Steven Gerrard has not got everything right in the transfer market since his arrival at Rangers last summer, one deal that looks to be a masterstroke was the move for Glen Kamara.
Kamara initially agreed a pre-contract deal ahead of the January transfer window, but ultimately ended up signing before the deadline, with the Gers paying Dundee £50,000 to get a move completed (via Evening Telegraph).
And the midfielder has been an inspired addition. Rangers fans have struggled to get over the fact that he cost so little, with his superb performance in the latest Old Firm game at Ibrox seeing him get the better of Scott Brown and drive the Gers to a dominant win.
And perhaps there is an opportunity to replicate the brilliance of the move for Kamara following reports regarding the future of one of his former teammates.

The Scottish Sun has claimed that Dundee’s Player of the Season Nathan Ralph is attracting interest in England, and is available on a free transfer due to a relegation release clause in his contract at Dens Park.
Rangers arguably go into the summer needing to consider strengthening their left-back options. Borna Barisic has endured a difficult first year, Lee Wallace appears to be on his way out, and neither Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan are natural left-backs.

It is not a position that the Gers have to prioritise. But with Ralph available on a free transfer, Gerrard will be signing a natural left-back without using any of his budget.
And with the last player that Rangers signed from Dundee proving to be an outstanding addition, perhaps there is every chance that signing Ralph on a free could be another incredibly shrewd move.
