Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers need at least one new left-back.

Well, Everton’s Leighton Baines won’t be joining Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this summer.

Rumours stemming from social media suggested that Gerrard would try and bring the veteran left-back to Ibrox, but The Echo has ruled out that prospect.

Still, the Rangers boss needs at least one left-back and should he look at one of Baines’s team-mates instead?

Antonee Robinson told Wigan Today on Monday that he was hoping to break into Marco Silva’s senior squad at Everton next season, having impressed on loan last term.

But if Baines signs the one-year extension that he’s reportedly been offered then it greatly affects Robinson’s hopes, putting the 21-year-old behind Baines and Lucas Digne.

He would have to move and why wouldn’t the Gers be in the queue?

Borna Barisic had a poor first season following his arrival from Osijek and Jon Flanagan isn’t outstanding.

Ibrox is crying out for a dependable, quality left-back and if Baines re-signs at Goodison, Robinson, who has six caps for the United States’ national side, seems attainable.
