Rangers have signed seven players this summer, but seem far from finished.
Rangers have been linked with a whole host of wingers this summer, with options out wide significantly sparse. Though Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias remain first choice, the Gers must join the race for a Newcastle United outcast.
Gerrard himself has admitted that he is a fan of Manchester City’s Brandon Barker, Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones and Liverpool quartet Harry Wilson, Ben Woodburn, Ryan Kent and Dom Solanke.
Speaking to the Scottish Sun, 37-year-old Gerrard stated that it is “pure speculation” that Rangers are interested in the seven aforementioned players. But one thing is clear – Rangers need wingers.
That is because Gerrard has only Murphy and Candeias to choose from, with summer signings Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield better used in a central position.
The club have since moved on Joe Dodoo and Michael O’Halloran, while colossal flop Dalcio has returned to Portugal. It leaves Gerrard with only two, out-and-out wingers to choose from.

With plenty of money already spent, including £5million on central defenders Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, Gerrard needs to bring in a winger on the cheap but with the potential to shine in the Scottish Premiership.
It should see the Liverpool legend consider joining the race for Newcastle United youngster Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, who is set to be released by The Toon. The Daily Mail claims interest in the 22-year-old is rife.
Indeed, the report states Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Watford and Sporting Lisbon are all keen on El-Mhanni, who managed just two senior appearances for The Toon during 2016-17/
Now available on a free, the fleet-footed star is free to move to a club of his choice and Rangers must blow the reportedly keen parties out of the water to land the exciting El-Mhanni.
Signing the youngster would see Rangers land somewhat of an unearthed gem, giving the Gers an unknown quantity in attack as well as cover out wide, in the number 10 role and even up front.
