Rangers striker Kenny Miller may be 37 years of age, but he is still going strong. The former Celtic and Hibernian man is banging in the goals for the Gers and remains an important player in the team.
Miller is in his third spell at Rangers this season, but his current deal with the Gers runs out in the summer, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha recent suggested to The Daily Record that it is not guaranteed that the striker will offered a new contract.
Tam McManus, who played with Miller at Hibernian, believes that the Rangers striker deserves a new deal.
“In terms of purely judging his performances on the pitch this season for Rangers, I cannot, as I said, believe he has not been tied up already for next season,” McManus wrote about Miller in The Herald.
“He remains, in my opinion, Rangers best striker and if you get someone with better movement beside him, you would get more out of him because, as he has got older (and a wee bit slower), his awareness and game intelligence has improved greatly.”
“If anyone deserves a new contract this season, it is him,” added McManus. “There is still life, games and goals in the old dog yet.”
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 55 points from 32 matches.
The Ibrox outfit are nine points behind second-placed Aberdeen and still have a chance of finishing runners-up in the league this season.
Caixinha’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Partick Thistle at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
