Rangers should add a player who will be able to contribute straight away at Ibrox.

Rangers’ hopes that Jordan Rossiter could be a game changer at Ibrox this season took a predicable turn this summer when the midfielder went down with another injury.
There are no signs that the midfielder is closing on a return, and nor should there be expectations on a player who has made only 11 appearances in two seasons.
Rangers need to look for alternatives, and should seek to sign Claudio Yacob as a free agent.
Yacob, 31, is available on a free after leaving West Bromwich Albion, where he spent the past six seasons and played 160 games.
He was a teammate of new Rangers signing Gareth McAuley, who could vouch for the midfielder’s ability.
Yacob’s previous international caps for Argentina should speak for itself in comparison to the frustrating Rossiter.

He would be too late to register for the Europa League, but Rossiter has not even been entered on Rangers’ squad list for that competition so the club are no worse off – and instead would have a player who is able to contribute in the league.
Yacob is a defensive midfielder who knows when the toe the line, bringing a level of controlled aggression which Steven Gerrard has tried to instil in his side.
During six seasons in England he picked up 41 yellow cards, being sent off only once.
Adding more competition to Rangers’ midfield has to be a consideration still and Gerrard should leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of success.
