Ex-Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor appears to be eyeing a return to Scotland.

Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor turned 36 in January, but he seemingly has no plans to hang up his gloves just yet.
The shot-stopper is back in the Scotland squad under Alex McLeish as he looks to build on the 36 caps he has already earned, whilst he also seems to have his eyes on a summer transfer.
McGregor has racked up 37 Championship appearances for Hull this season, missing just the one game so far this term, but he seemingly won’t be staying at the KCOM Stadium.

McGregor’s contract with Hull expires this summer, and having told The Scotsman that he doesn’t think a new deal is in the pipeline, he is now prepared for a return to Scotland.
Hearts appear to be the favourites for McGregor’s signature, but former club Rangers should be at least considering a move for the shot-stopper, who made almost 300 appearances for the Gers having come up through the ranks with the club.
Wes Foderingham has been important in recent years but is far from infallible, and bringing in a proven goalkeeper with major experience could be a smart move from the Gers.

In January, Rangers focused on bringing in players with connections to the club, as both Greg Docherty and Jamie Murphy grew up supporting Rangers, and landing a player with such strong ties as McGregor would continue that strategy.
However, Rangers aren’t exactly in need of a goalkeeper right now, and McGregor should be considered if current Gers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick indicates that he wants to leave Ibrox this summer.
Alnwick has played just one league game for Rangers since Mark Warburton signed him in January 2017, and at 24, he needs to be playing regularly, and if he wants to move on in search of first-team football, Rangers should be quick to pounce on McGregor.
