Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard reportedly wants to bring a creative player to Ibrox during the January transfer window.

The Gers are the highest scoring team in the Scottish Premiership, but there have still been a handful of games when the Light Blues have looked out of ideas so it is probably no surprise that an exciting creator is wanted.
And perhaps one player that Rangers should consider an ambitious move for is Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon, with his contract situation potentially opening up various possibilities.
Piazon could be a fantastic signing for the Gers if they decided to make a move. He is capable of playing anywhere in the final third having arrived at Chelsea as a striker before moving back into an attacking midfield role.

Although he has not made the grade at Stamford Bridge, Piazon – who cost £10 million in 2011, according to the Express – has experience in La Liga, Eredivisie, Bundesliga and the Championship. He was part of the Fulham side that won promotion to the Premier League last season.
He would add more flair and definitely more goals to Rangers’ midfield and would give Gerrard an option to potentially use up front if required. A move appears to be unlikely, but the Gers should certainly try their luck in a couple of months.

Goal reports that Piazon’s deal expires this summer. Rangers could be particularly ambitious and look at a pre-contract move for the end of the season, or could consider an immediate bid in January that would cost a fraction of the eight-figure fee that Chelsea paid seven years ago.
Though Piazon has not had the chance to show it at Chelsea, he is a player who has played in several top flights and not looked out of place. Rangers may face a difficult task trying to get something done, but he should undoubtedly be the name at the top of Gerrard’s wishlist for January.
