Rangers’ first team are thriving right now, having racked up yet another win on Tuesday night, beating St Johnstone 4-1 at McDiarmid Park to make it six wins in seven league games.

The Gers have cut the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to just six points, keeping pressure on league leaders Celtic, and Graeme Murty is doing a superb job following Pedro Caixinha’s exit.

Murty was promoted from his role as youth chief, and it’s now becoming clear that not only is his work with the first-team commendable, but his work with the youth side of Rangers is also coming to the fore.

Scotland Under-19’s were in action on Tuesday afternoon, taking on their Danish counterparts in Spain, and Fraser Hornby’s winning goal handed Scotland a 1-0 victory.

Intriguingly, Rangers had huge representation in Donald Park’s side, as five Gers youngsters were named in the starting line-up to face Denmark, summing up the strong work being done on Rangers’ youth setup.

Kieran Wright, Aidan Wilson, Matthew Shiels, Jamie Barjonas and new signing Glenn Middleton all started for Rangers, whilst Aidan McAdams and Zak Rudden were both on the bench too.

Scotland’s teamsheet, seen below, shows just how excited Rangers fans should be about the future, as all five players look to have bright careers ahead of them, especially new signing Middleton.

The challenge for all five starters from Tuesday is now to kick on become regulars for Rangers and eventually full Scotland internationals, but after a few years of attempting to rebuild the club’s youth ranks following their 2012 demotion, Rangers look to be on the right track with their youth work once again.
