One particular area where the Gers chief will want to bolster is his centre-forward department, with more quality competition required for Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq.
With this in mind, the Glasgow giants should consider a move for Nigerian hitman Emmanuel Emenike, who is available on a free transfer following his release from Olympiacos this month.
The 31-year-old is vastly experienced in playing at the very highest level, and has a decent career goalscoring record, having chalked up 92 goals in 232 appearances in all competitions.
He has also earned 37 international caps for Nigeria, and he would undoubtedly add quality, pace and experience to Rangers’ front-line this season.
Steven Gerrard will surely be looking to add more variety to his attacking options this summer, and Emenike could be just the man for the job.
The Nigerian would bring something completing different to Rangers, and his availability on a free transfer means that a move for him would involve little risk.
Emenike might not be the striker he once was, but he still has plenty left to offer, and Ibrox might just be the ideal place for him to flaunt his talent.
