Sheyi Ojo has made a very bright start to life at Ibrox having joined Glasgow Rangers on loan during the summer.

While Rangers fans are understandably keen to see Ryan Kent return to Ibrox for a second spell, it is easy to forget that the winger made a fairly slow and unspectacular start to life at Ibrox after he arrived on loan last summer.
Kent’s first goal for the Gers came in mid-September, while he went into the mid-season break having only found the back of the net on three occasions in all competitions.
He provided glimpses of his talent during the first-half of the season – few fans will forget the torrid time he gave Mikael Lustig in the 1-0 win at Ibrox in December – but it was really only after the turn of the year that the 22-year-old became the game-changer that Rangers would really turn to when the chips were down.
If there was one criticism of Kent’s time at Rangers, it would surely be that he did not score enough goals. In fact, he left having scored just six times for the Gers.

And that is perhaps why Rangers should allow themselves to be seriously excited about what Sheyi Ojo may be able to do during his time in the Scottish Premiership.
The Liverpool-owned youngster has already matched Kent’s tally for the entirety of 2018, having scored three times, including one in the 6-1 win over Hibernian at the weekend. He also provided an assist in that game.

Ojo appears to be taking less time to get up to speed in his new surroundings, which could be a devastating prospect given how influential Kent proved to be as the season reached the business end.
Kent set an extremely high bar. But with Ojo already reaching small milestones months ahead of his Reds teammate, perhaps there is reason to believe that Rangers’ move for Ojo could be even more inspired than the one to sign Kent last summer.
