Rangers-owned Greg Docherty continues to thrive away from Ibrox.

Rangers brought in 15 signings to bolster Steven Gerrard’s squad, but so many arrivals meant that some players had to move on to make room for the additions.
The likes of Jak Alnwick, Declan John, Lee Hodson, Fabio Cardoso and Josh Windass all moved on over the summer along with a host of other players, either on loan or permanently.
One of those to go out on loan was midfielder Greg Docherty, as he headed to League One in order to join Shrewsbury Town on loan for the season.
Docherty was only brought in from Hamilton Academical in January by Graeme Murty, and played a key role in the Rangers midfield in the second half of last term.
However, with Lassana Coulibaly, Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield arriving to boost the midfield at Ibrox, Gerrard decided to let Docherty go out on loan and again experience.

So far, Docherty’s move has worked wonders. On Tuesday night, Docherty scored for Shrewsbury in a 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle, and has now hit six goals in 20 games for the Shrews this season.
Rangers decided to send Docherty a tweet off the back of his display, praising him for another impressive performance, having scored a goal, grabbed three points and been named man of the match, with Gerrard surely looking to recall the Scot in January.
