Steven Gerrard’s Rangers remain keen on bringing Joey Veerman to Ibrox, according to The Times.
What’s the story?
Rangers are interested in signing Veerman from Heerenveen in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.
The Gers have made an offer of £3.8 million for the attacking midfielder.
However, Dutch club Heerenveen have turned it down.
That has not deterred Rangers.
The Scottish Premiership giants are now ‘considering whether to increase’ their offer and make a second bid for the youngster.
Heerenveen reportedly value Veerman at £10 million, and the player himself wants to leave.

Could Rangers get Joey Veerman?
If Heerenveen want £10 million for Veerman, then it is hard to see Rangers sign him for much less than that.
Of course, negotiations always take place between clubs, but it is very likely that Rangers will have to pay around £7 million at least.

The positive for Rangers is that the summer transfer window will be open for several more weeks, so they have time on their hands.
Veerman, who can also play as a winger, made 30 starts and one substitute appearance in the Eredivisie for Heerenveen last season.
The Dutch winger scored seven goals and gave 10 assists in those games.
