Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a brilliant player in Ovie Ejaria, says Scott Arfield.

Scott Arfield has paid tribute to Rangers team-mate Ovie Ejaria and claimed that the summer signing will be a “big, big player” for the club.

Ejaria opened the scoring for Rangers away to FC Ufa on Thursday afternoon with a ninth-minute stunner.

It was the 20-year-old’s second goal for the Gers since joining on a season-long loan from Liverpool earlier this summer, having also found the net last weekend.

Ejaria wasn’t a huge hit originally with fans of the Ibrox club, but it’s obvious that he is becoming increasingly better under Steven Gerrard.

And Arfield, also a summer signing by Gerrard, claims that he’s the best technical player that he has ever played with.

He told Rangers’ YouTube channel: “When he first came to the club I thought he was by far the best technical player I’ve ever played with.

“He’s got these wee snake hips and you can’t get the ball of him at times and now he’s adding goals to his game. He’s going to be a big, big player for us.”

Ejaria’s goal wound up being a huge reason as to why Rangers moved into the Europa League group stages.

Gerrard’s side finished today’s clash in Russia with nine men, with Alfredo Morelos being sent off on 37 minutes, before Jon Flanagan followed him midway through the second half.

The Russians, who needed two second-half goals without response after the score was 1-1 at the break, had at least a one-man advantage for the majority of the game, but the Scottish giants held firm at the back to seal their passage.
