Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers beat Celtic to spice up the Scottish Premiership title race.

Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has admitted to Sky Sports that he never intended to imitate or humiliate Celtic’s Scott Brown during the Old Firm last month.
Steven Gerrard’s Gers side beat Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox on December 29 to move level on points with the Premiership leaders at the summit.
Considering that it was Rangers’ first win over the old enemy in 13 games, and the significance of the three points in the context of the title race, it was a big deal.
Plenty of players in blue enhanced their reputations among the home fans, but particularly Arfield – and not only for his excellent midfield performance.
The 30-year-old did the ‘Broony’ right in front of Brown – a gesture made famous by the Celtic captain when he stretched out both arms to antagonise El Hadji Diouf all those years ago.
It was the cherry on top of a glorious afternoon for Rangers, but Arfield, who joined Gerrard’s side last summer, reveals that it was a spur-of-the-moment reaction.
He told Sky Sports: “It was spur of the moment, just one of those things.
Asked if Brown was ‘alright’ with what happened, the former Burnley star added: “I think so. I hope so.”
