Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Steven Gerrard’s former teammate Martin Skrtel and Thomas Isherwood to Ibrox.

It has been reported that Liverpool legend Gerrard has agreed a deal with Rangers to become the Ibrox club’s new manager.
The former England international midfielder has reportedly made his former teammate and 33-year-old Slovakia international teammate Skrtel one of his priority signings in the summer transfer window.

Young defender on trial
The Daily Record has also claimed that Rangers have taken Bayern Munich defender Thomas Isherwood on trial.
Isherwood’s current contract with Bayern runs out at the end of the season, and Scottish club Rangers reportedly want to secure the services of the 20-year-old defender on a free transfer.
It has been reported that the Swedish central defender has spent this week training at Murray Park.
Blockbuster signing
Skrtel would be a great signing for Rangers and would certainly enhance the quality of the current Gers’ squad.
A brilliant centre-back, the former Zenit Saint Petersburg and Liverpool defender would bring with a wealth of experience and a winning mentality.
Interestingly, Skrtel worked with current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, and he was highly praised by the former Swansea City boss for his leadership.
Back in February 2014, Rodgers told The Guardian about Skrtel: “All credit to Martin; he has taken the responsibility to be a better player.
“His use of the ball is more composed, he’s taken on a real leadership role with the young players and his consistency has been at a really high level.”
