Rangers are reportedly still pursuing Aberdeen ace Kenny McLean.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers remain keen on signing Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean this summer – but their pursuit could end up being a waste of time.
The Gers have already made nine signing this summer, with Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Graham Dorrans, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos and Eduardo Herrera all arriving at Ibrox.

However, having suffered an embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Luxembourg’s Progres Niederkorn, manager Pedro Caixinha may still want more additions this summer – and he’s eyeing up another raid on Aberdeen.
After signing Dons captain Ryan Jack on a free transfer at the end of his Pittodrie contract, The Scottish Sun report that Rangers are still hoping to sign Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean before the summer transfer deadline.
McLean, 25, has been a key player for Aberdeen with 14 goals in 113 games since joining from St. Mirren in February 2015, and Rangers have already failed with one bid to sign him this summer, according to the Daily Record.
Aberdeen are adamant that McLean won’t be leaving after Jack departed, and whilst boyhood Rangers fan McLean may be prevented from making his dream move to Ibrox, Aberdeen almost certainly won’t sell this summer unless Rangers manage to make a substantial offer.

Aberdeen have already seen Jack – a key midfielder – leave for Rangers, and they will be fighting desperately to keep McLean from joining Jack, especially given that manager Derek McInnes turned down Sunderland to stay with Aberdeen earlier this summer.
McInnes will have demanded reassurances that key players won’t be sold, with McLean fitting that bill. Rangers have a very slim chance of landing McLean this summer, and rather than waste their time pursuing a deal, they should either switch targets or hope to land him when his contract expires in 2018, replicating their Jack raid.
