Rangers have been snubbed by Sunderland-bound Chris Coleman, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that the former Wales head coach spoke with the Gers chiefs on Friday afternoon.

However, Coleman decided not to take the Rangers managerial job and will take charge of Sunderland in the Championship in England, according to the report.

The 47-year-old former defender will earn £750,000 per year at the Black Cats and will sign an 18-month contract, states the report.

Rangers are on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Pedro Caixinha in October.

Graeme Murty has been placed in charge of the Gers for the time being, but it is unlikely that he will handed the Ibrox managerial role until the end of the season.
