It has been reported that Rangers have identified the former Sunderland striker as a possible replacement for Alfredo Morelos.
Colombia international striker Morelos has agreed personal terms with Lille, who are in talks with the Gers over a transfer, according to Sky Sports.
Get French Football News has claimed that Rangers will open talks with French club Bordeaux this week over the possible signing of the 21-year-old striker.
The report has added that Maja is represented by Elite Project Group, who work as agents for Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo.
Second time lucky?
This is not the first time that Rangers manager Gerrard is reported to have shown interest in Maja.
The Sunday People (print edition, page 49, January 20, 2019) reported that the Gers wanted to sign the striker when he was at Sunderland (click here to read more).
That did not come to fruition, as the Nigeria international joined Bordeaux in France later that month.
Stats
According to WhoScored, Maja made six starts and 15 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Bordeaux this past season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the process.
