Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jamie Murphy in January. He would be a great signing for Graeme Murty’s Gers.
It has been reported that Ibrox club Rangers are planning to make a £1.2 million move for the 28-year-old winger in January.
The former Scotland Under-21 international is reportedly eager to move on after finding it hard to play regularly for Brighton in the Premier League this season.
Murphy has played a total of 166 minutes in the Premier League for the Seagulls so far this season, according to WhoScored.
According to The Scottish Sun, a loan deal is a possibility, but Rangers’ director of football Mark Allen is pushing to sign the winger on a permanent contract.
Signing Murphy would be a blockbuster move for Rangers, given that the winger is a Premier League footballer at the moment.
It would also be a good signing for the Gers, as the 28-year-old has been a success in Scotland, having played for Motherwell until 2013 before his move to Sheffield United.
According to a report in The Glasgow Evening Times back in November 2012, Murphy is a Rangers fan.
