Rangers are interested in signing Kenny McLean from Aberdeen in the summer transfer window, according to The Glasgow Evening Times.

It has been reported that Rangers have made a move to sign McLean from Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen this summer.

According to the report, the Gers have stepped up their interest in the 25-year-old midfielder and have made a bid.

McLean is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership and would be a brilliant signing for Rangers.

However, would Aberdeen be willing to sell the former St. Mirren player to Pedro Caixinha’s Gers, who will be their direct rivals for the runners-up spot in the Scottish Premiership next season?

Moreover, Rangers could also face competition from Birmingham City. Earlier this month, Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp expressed his interest in McLean.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager told The Scottish Sun that he had gone to watch the Scottish Cup final between Aberdeen and Celtic last season in order to watch McLean ( and Jonny Hayes) in action.

Redknapp claimed that he was impressed with the performance of McLean, and maybe the Championship club in England could make a bid as well.
