According to Glasgow Live, Rangers have held encouraging talks with Kai Kennedy over a shock contract U-turn.
Kennedy seemed to be edging towards the Rangers exit door over the summer, with The Scottish Sun claiming he had been told to find a new club.
The winger was entering the final year of his Ibrox deal and wouldn’t sign a new deal, which meant Rangers were ready to part ways.
Sheffield United were keen according to the Daily Record, but that didn’t happen, leaving the teenager to make a shock loan move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Many thought Kennedy would just run down his deal and leave at the end of the season, but it’s now suggested that positive talks have been held.
A deal isn’t close yet, but there is renewed hope that Rangers will manage to keep Kennedy – a recent target for Manchester City and Bayern Munich – beyond the end of the season.

Steven Gerrard has been a big fan in the past, telling the Daily Record last November that he thinks Kennedy is a ‘fabulous’ talent.
Rangers could now keep Kennedy in Glasgow, in what would be a huge turnaround for the Gers given the 18-year-old’s potential.
