Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw reportedly interested Rangers before moving to Oakwell.
Rangers reportedly eyed Tom Bradshaw two years ago but missed out on the Championship goalscorer as he moved to Barnsley from League One minnows Walsall. Now, the Gers could have another chance to sign the striker.
Sky Sports Transfer Centre (Thursday, 12:15) claimed that the 25-year-old is considering handing in a transfer request at Oakwell as Barnsley suffered relegation to the third tier of English football.
Bradshaw has proven himself in England’s second tier after a strong 2017-18 campaign, which saw him shine in a side that struggled to compete with their Championship rivals.
He scored 10 goals in 43 games with chances at a premium, and has attracted interest from Championship sides because of it. Indeed, the report claims Millwall have made a bid for Bradshaw, while Reading and Hull City are said to be keen.
The Daily Mail claimed back in 2016 that Rangers were interested in Bradshaw after Mark Warburton had guided the Gers back into the Scottish Premiership. Two years on, Rangers could still do with a new striker.
That is because Alfredo Morelos’ future remains in doubt as talks have reportedly been staged between the Scottish giants and Turkish outfit Besiktas over a move this summer. Eduardo Herrera is expected to leave.
Despite the signing of Umar Sadiq from Roma on a season-long loan, the amount of games played by Scottish clubs suggests that the Gers need three strikers despite Steven Gerrard being likely to use a system with only one forward.
Wales international Bradshaw has only got better over the last two seasons and with his contract set to expire at the end of next season and the potential of a transfer request, Rangers will never have a better chance to land the striker.
