Rangers have reportedly made a bid of £4 million for Swansea City striker Oliver McBurnie, and this could cause a dilemma for Leeds United.
According to The Sun, new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has made an opening £4m offer for the Scotland international striker.
McBurnie is a Rangers fans, as reported by The Sun, and one suspects that the 21-year-old will be keen on joining the Gers.
Earlier this month, The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Leeds want the former Bradford City striker in the summer transfer window.
With Rangers having (reportedly) made a £4m bid, the Whites now have a decision to make on whether or not to match that offer and perhaps even bid more.
McBurnie did brilliantly during his loan spell at Barnsley in the second half of the season, scoring nine goals in 16 Championship starts for the Tykes.
However, would it wise to splash out £4m on a 21-year-old striker who is still relatively unproven?
After all, as talented and good as the Scotsman is, his biggest achievement so far has been in the past six months.
Leeds are unlikely to have a lot of money to spend in the summer transfer window and will have to be shrewd with their signings, and spending £4m or more on a 21-year-old to score 20 goals in the Championship may not be wise.
