Giovanni van Bronckhorst has a number of decisions to make when picking his Rangers side to take on Celtic in a crucial title showdown at Ibrox. Four changes could be made to the side that beat Dundee last time out 2-1.
Alfredo Morelos has been ruled out. Colombia confirmed that there has been a knock suffered by the striker and it has now been confirmed that he will be unavailable to play against Celtic come Sunday afternoon.
The forward missed both games in the international break. Another doubt was Aaron Ramsey, but he was rested during his side’s 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic. Wales boss Rob Page confirmed he was simply being rested.
Ramsey has started his side’s last two games against Dundee, scoring in the 2-1 win last time out. He is likely to start but with Morelos sidelined, it is likely that Kemar Roofe will be given the nod up top.
Four changes: Who do Rangers start, who drops out against Celtic?
In the middle of the park, Rangers will have to cope with the energy of Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor. Having Glen Kamara in the side will give them the agility and fitness to help defend against the Hoops.
He might partner Ryan Jack in the two of a 4-2-3-1 system. Joe Aribo is likely to come back in despite his Nigeria exploits, a player that can create something out of nothing. Out go Scott Arfield, 28-year-old John Lundstram.
James Sands also started against Dundee and Jack will come in for him. Four changes then – in come Jack, Kamara, Roofe and Aribo, for Sands, Lundstram, Morelos and Arfield ahead of Sunday’s clash.
