Glasgow Rangers will be hoping to bounce back from the defeat that they suffered at Ibrox over the weekend.
Rangers travel to Partick Thistle on Tuesday looking to get their push for second place in the Scottish Premiership back on track after they suffered a disappointing defeat at Ibrox over the weekend.
The Gers ended up losing 2-1 at home to Hibernian, with the visitors’ winner coming from the spot just a couple of minutes after Sean Goss had cancelled out John McGinn’s opener with a stunning free-kick.
With just a few days to prepare for the trip to Partick and with the side going into the game off the back of a defeat, it may not be too great a surprise if Murty makes a couple of changes.
Jason Holt arguably did not have the best day against Neil Lennon’s side, having seemingly struggled to stamp his authority on the midfield battle, so perhaps that may present a chance for Greg Docherty to make his first start following his January move.
Elsewhere, David Bates – who has occasionally struggled with little knocks during the campaign – should perhaps be given a rest to allow Fabio Cardoso to get some minutes under his belt alongside Russell Martin, who, if Holt is rested, may well be in contention to take the armband.
Jason Cummings will surely start one of the games this week, but given that Alfredo Morelos has been given the chance in the league recently, it may not be a surprise if Cummings’ chance to really shine comes in the Scottish Cup at the weekend, with Morelos starting against Partick. But there will surely be a number of Gers fans who would probably not mind Morelos being left on the bench on Tuesday.
