Glasgow Rangers return to Ibrox on Wednesday looking to get back to winning ways after their semi-final disappointment.

28th October 2018, Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland; Scottish League Cup football, semi final, Aberdeen versus Rangers; Rangers Manager Steven Gerrard watches on

Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action on Wednesday as they host Kilmarnock at Ibrox. Victory for Steven Gerrard’s men could see the Gers move up to second in the table.

Three points already appears to be essential after the events at Hampden Park at the weekend. It would certainly be no surprise if Gerrard makes a number of changes from the team that were beaten in the League Cup semi-final.

The most obvious change will surely come up front. Alfredo Morelos was suspended on Sunday and Umar Sadiq did little to show Gerrard that he deserves more opportunities while he is on loan with the Light Blues. The Colombian will surely return on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there may also be changes in the middle of the park. Lassana Coulibaly has not looked the same player since returning from injury and it may be time to take him out of the firing line for a game or two.

Scott Arfield of Rangers controls the ball during the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Livingston and Rangers at Almondvale Stadium on September 30, 2018 in Livingston, Scotland.

That could mean that Scott Arfield could get the chance to start after featuring for the final minutes at Hampden. Ryan Jack may also be rested to hand Jordan Rossiter another opportunity.

Rossiter performed well until Hamilton’s goal in his most recent appearance, and with three games in eight days coming up, he may get another go to impress.

Jordan Rossiter of Rangers is seen during the Betfred Scottish League Cup Quarter Final match between Rangers and Ayr United on September 26, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The back five may remain the same, but the likes of Nikola Katic and Andy Halliday will be hoping that Gerrard decides to make even more changes following the 1-0 loss.

With that in mind, here is a look at the predicted lineup in full…
