Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers travel to their bitter rivals for their final Scottish Premiership clash of 2017.

Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on December 16, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers will be hoping that they can round off 2017 by finally ending their wait for a win against their bitter rivals Celtic, having failed to beat Brendan Rodgers’ men since their return to the Scottish Premiership in 2016.

The Gers have only avoided defeat on one occasion since their promotion back to the top flight, and that came when Graeme Murty was overseeing his final game during his first spell as caretaker manager – so he will be hoping that he has the ability to lead his side to another positive result when they meet at Parkhead this Saturday.

Unfortunately for Murty, he potentially faces something of an injury crisis in the middle of the park after yet another of his midfielders did not see out the game against Motherwell in midweek.

Ryan Jack was replaced after a nasty challenge, and Murty later told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that he is a doubt for the clash at Celtic Park.

Josh Windass of Rangers in action during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on August 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Assuming therefore, that Jack does not make the squad, Murty faces a difficult task, with Graham Dorrans a long-term absentee due to injury.

On a positive note, Josh Windass should return to the team after serving a suspension, so perhaps Murty will opt to put the Englishman back up front alongside Alfredo Morelos, bring Daniel Candeias into attacking midfield for Eduardo Herrera and drop Niko Kranjcar back into the centre of the park.

With a number of injury problems, it may not be too great a surprise if Windass and Candeias coming back for Herrera and Jack are the only changes, though the Rangers boss may perhaps be considering whether to take a gamble on the likes of Lee Wallace, Jamie Barjonas and Carlos Pena for the Old Firm game.

Here is the lineup that we are expecting in full…
