Rangers beat Motherwell at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
General View of Ibrox Stadium
Rangers were far from convincing as they picked up a 2-1 home win over Motherwell on Saturday afternoon, with a last-gasp goal handing them all three points.
The Gers went into the game having picked up four points from their first two Premiership games of the season, with last week’s win over Dundee getting their season kickstarted.
Rangers’ Harry Forrester
However, Mark Warburton’s men fell behind against Motherwell on Saturday afternoon, as Scott McDonald poked the ball home from close range after Marvin Johnson’s shot had been blocked.
Rangers were poor throughout but did hit back as Harry Forrester stabbed home after Motherwell failed to clear, and veteran Kenny Miller then struck an injury-time winner to hand the Gers all three points.
Rangers’ Kenny Miller
It was far from stellar for Rangers, but they will play better and lose this season, and the result keeps Warburton’s men at the top of the Premiership table, even though there have only been three games so far.
After the game, Rangers players took to Twitter in order to send messages to supporters, who had roared their team on to victory at Ibrox.
Rangers’ Wes Foderingham in action
Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham was delighted with the determination shown by his team-mates as they came from behind to win, whilst he also remarked on the atmosphere inside the stadium after Miller’s winner.
Tavernier followed a similar theme, as did Josh Windass, as both felt it was a vital win and a remarkable atmosphere generated by the Rangers fans at the end of the game.
Finally, forward Joe Dodoo claimed it was a ‘massive’ three points for Rangers, as he was happy that the Gers managed to dig deep and comeback to win the game.
