Rangers left-back Borna Barisic has told Herald Scotland that he is not thinking about a potential move away from Ibrox right now.

Earlier this month, Football Insider reported of interest in Barisic from Leeds United, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.

Herald Scotland has also stated that the former NK Osijek left-back has been linked with Leeds, AS Roma and Napoli.

However, Barisic – who has “no limits”, according to comments from NK Osijek sporting director Alen Petrovic’s in The Daily Record in June – is not thinking about leaving Rangers right now.

Barisic told Herald Scotland when asked about his future: “I was expecting this question. I don’t want to talk about transfers or things like that. The most important thing is where I am now and that is Rangers.

“We know how big this season is for us. I don’t want to think about transfers because when you think about things like that and read about that, it is normal that you then lose your focus.

“Personally as a player and a club, we have started very well, I have started well and that is the most important thing.”

Rangers stay

Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and stop their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from making it 10 in a row.

Barisic is one of the best left-backs in the division and is a very important player in Steven Gerrard’s squad.

It is hard to see Rangers sell the 27-year-old especially as the season has already started, and the Croatia international’s aforementioned comments suggest that he is not looking to leave.
