Rangers defender Connor Goldson has asked Shane Duffy on Instagram whether his contract with Celtic has a ’14 day cancellation period’ after he joined their Glasgow rivals today.

Celtic signed the Brighton defender on a season-long loan and his former teammate from the Amex Stadium reacted to his Instagram message.

Goldson wrote: ‘Does the contract have a 14 day cancellation period?’ added with a hand on face emoji and feeling sick emoji.

They may have been teammates in England, but both Duffy and Goldson will now be enemies in Scotland.

Duffy moves to Parkhead where he will be looking to help Neil Lennon guide the Bhoys to a record-breaking and historic ten Premiership titles in a row.

Celtic’s move for Duffy is a big one because it adds much-needed experience, know-how, calmness and reliability to their backline.

Celtic’s record transfer sales

  1. Kieran Tierney

    £25 million (Arsenal)

  2. Moussa Dembele

    £19.7 million (Lyon)

  3. Victor Wanyama

    £12.5 million (Southampton)

  4. Virgil van Dijk

    £11.5 million (Southampton)

  5. Fraser Forster

    £10 million (Southampton)

For Goldson, the season has started in a strong fashion at Ibrox because he has helped Steven Gerrard’s side secure a record six clean sheets on the bounce.

But it’s still early doors yet in the title race as Duffy will be looking to make his mark when he returns from international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
