Zak Rudden, of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, scored past Celtic’s Conor Hazard on Saturday.
Rangers starlet Zak Rudden made headlines for scoring against a Celtic goalkeeper last week – and now he’s just done it against a different one.
Rudden scored past Celtic loanee Ross Doohan last week as Falkirk beat Ayr United 1-0.
The Championship side today managed to extend his loan from Rangers until the end of the season, and the brilliant 18-year-old picked up where he left off.
The Bairns held Partick Thistle to a 1-1 draw and Rudden grabbed a 76th-minute equaliser, scoring past another promising Celtic keeper in Conor Hazard.
Hazard is a hot prospect on the green half of the Old Firm divide, and Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers said last year that he feels the 20-year-old will be a ‘very good keeper’ [official site].
As for the Rangers prospect, Rudden, who now has nine goals for a team that’s spent most of the season at the bottom of the Championship, has justified his manager’s comparison to Ally McCoist this week.
Ray McKinnon told The Scottish Sun: “He is a goalscorer, he needs to be in that six-yard box, like an Ally McCoist type. He just sniffs out goals.”
Rudden also won praise from Rangers manager Steven Gerrard last summer after scoring in a pre-season friendly. Gerrard likes him and, with two goals against two Celtic prospects, the Ibrox faithful will start to very soon.
