Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers let Joe Dodoo leave on loan during the summer, but he isn’t impressing down South.
After a rotten 2017-18 campaign, Rangers striker Joe Dodoo would’ve been hoping to turn over a new leaf this season.
The 23-year-old, who endured a disappointing loan spell at Charlton last term and only played twice for Rangers, returned to English football this past summer to join Blackpool on a temporary basis.
Despite a decent start, Dodoo, who scored in the win over Coventry in August, has largely been an unused substitute since then, but on Saturday he was omitted entirely.
The former Leicester City talent, who joined the Gers for £250,000 under Mark Warburton, failed to even make the bench as Blackpool beat AFC Wimbledon.
It seems likely that his absence stems from being dropped, rather than an injury. Earlier this month, he started the 2-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Trophy – a competition he wouldn’t have been playing in if he was a key first-team member.
The Rangers man, contracted to the Scots until next summer, is on loan with the League One side until the end of the season but you wonder if the English side will honour that agreement, especially if he continues to fail to make the bench for league games.
